Study can be a challenging experience – you may find yourself in a program that does not fit and facing a decision to drop out or change. You may also be wondering where your program is leading and what job prospects there are in your discipline. By arranging an individual consultation with a Careers Counsellor, you can discuss program choice and investigate graduate outcomes. Other issues you can discuss include finding work overseas, how to approach employers and improving job interview performance.
CD&E’s Careers Counsellors are available to assist with the above and many other program and career–related matters. They are available not only to assist you in making immediate career decisions, but also to equip you with the skills to continue making decisions in the future. This service is FREE to all enrolled RMIT University students and recent graduates (up to two years).
Before making an appointment, check to see if there is a Lunchtime Workshop that addresses your issue. Sometimes an appointment may not be necessary, as these hour-long workshops deal with many of the more common career-related issues, such as Job Searching and Interview Technique.
Please note that for all appointments, CD&E will need to be supplied your name, student number, the name of the program you are studying and a short summary of the issue you want to discuss.
A small number of short thirty-minute appointments are available for quick queries and pressing matters:
Hour-long appointments are available for more detailed queries but are in high demand - you may need to book up to two weeks ahead:
