The myguide section of myfuture guides you through a range of activities that will help you explore and plan your career. You can answer questions about your aspirations, interests, skills, values, etc. You will then be able to explore career suggestions made by myguide, select your career favourites, clarify your career direction, and then create an action plan to help you reach your career goals. myguide is a comprehensive career planning tool that you can use free of charge
The Job Guide is a comprehensive guide to careers and courses which includes job descriptions, requirements, education and training.

Australian Job Search is a free online employment service which includes some useful career planning resources.
Job Explorer is a comprehensive database of occupational attributes and job characteristics, including skills, knowledge, abilities, interests, work activities and tasks. Job Prospects helps you research job prospects, weekly earnings, type of work and other useful occupational information. CareerQuiz is a fast online assistance tool, helping to inform about career interest areas and providing links to local career information services.

Some university Careers Services may provide careers counselling and other assistance on a fee-for-service basis for non-students. If you are a prospective student, some services may be provided free. Visit University websites or call individual Careers Services for further information.
If you are feeling confused or finding it difficult to make a decision after using these resources, you may want some more personal assistance with your career planning or job-seeking. It may be helpful to talk to a private (fee-for-service) careers counsellor. Some private health funds provide cover for counselling services in their “extras” cover.

A good first step to locating a suitable professional is to visit the Australian Association of Careers Counsellors (AACC) website which provides valuable information about what careers counsellors do, and advice on how to choose a careers counsellor. This site also includes a search function to help you find an AACC accredited career development practitioner in your area.
