Melanie is a passionate educator, traveler, polyglot and advocate of life-long learning. Melanie is currently working as a Learning Designer with the Learning & Teaching Innovation Team in the College of Vocational Education.

Overview

Melanie started at RMIT in 2008 as a VE teacher and has over 14 years' experience specializing in academic preparation skills and working with students from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. At the end of 2020, she was awarded an ISSI Fellowship with a focus on researching international best practice blended learning for VET learners.

Research

Melanie's ISSI Fellowship research is focused on improving engagement, participation, and completion rates for VE students with effective blended learning strategies. The final goal will be to use this research to quantify and create a replicable model of best practice blended learning that can be shared and implemented across Victorian VET institutions.
