Course Description
In this course you will study quality management and quality in textile manufacturing, sourcing and in retailing of textiles. This includes the development of quality assurance systems; principles of total quality management; an overview of quality standards (ISO, AS); quality procedures; statistical processes control methods and over view of quality improvement right through out the supply chain of TCFL industry.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
In this course you will develop the following capabilities:
1. Apply analytical decision making techniques in a fashion and textiles environment.
2. Problem solve and apply sustainable practises related to fashion and textiles issues.
3. Apply logical and critical thinking in resolving a range of management issues in a fashion and textiles context.
4. Identify emerging global issues in fashion and textiles and operate professionally and ethically in a multi-cultural society.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Compare and contrast the philosophies of recognised experts in Quality Management
2. Evaluate a variety of methods in industry which are used to support TQM
3. Apply techniques to promote a TQM culture in the workplace.
Overview of Learning Activities
Key concepts of quality textile management and their application will be explained and discussed in lectures and tutorials with opportunities to analyse and discuss relevant case studies.
