Course Description

This course examines the process of land use decision -making and focuses on the role of the real estate developer and the planner. The objectives of this course are to develop and expand your knowledge of resource limitations, political processes (legislative change) and locational constraints in the process of land- use decision making.
In addition to the specific skills in developing demographic and market analysis you will develop your ability to understand the dynamics of the development process, particularly with regard to the people, their roles and organisations involved. The social and political aspects and implications of developments will also be considered within the decision-making framework. You will develop your abilty The continued development of the Your ability to work in multi-disciplinary team to achieve effective decision making .
This course will build and develop your understanding of complex property processes involved in development, planning and land use decision-making.

This course covers a wide range of material and as such there is no comprehensive reading guide that will provide the student. Student will be guide toward relievant readings and current events that influence this topic.

All students will be directed to relevant sources of information for further study during the lectures.


Overview of Assessment

Each student will be required to complete three pieces of assessment and to undertake a final exam

Assessment will include an individual assignment, a group assignment and Presentation

This program will have a final examination that is conducted at home and student will have 1 week to complete the task that will be released during the examination period.
