Course Description

This course is an introduction to intelligence and the use of intelligence in law enforcement contexts as well as the concepts and skills required to perform the functions of an intelligence officer. You will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of intelligence production and dissemination as well as the complexities and subtleties inherent in the generation of quality intelligence.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

On successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

a) Distinguish intelligence information from other forms of information;
b) Explain the intelligence process and its various component;
c) Identify and apply the elementary skills required to produce and deliver the intelligence product;
d) Discuss the application and use of intelligence within a law enforcement and security context.
