International Entrepreneurship utilises your past and current studies in: Fashion, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, HRM, Operations, Production, IT & Logistics but adds an international perspective to these courses. 
 


Course Description

This course will enable you to research, analyse and critique the many diverse issues that are relevant to the global fashion industry from an entrepreneurship perspective. You will critically investigate topics including the development and growth of international business in the fashion industry; responsibility and ethics in the local and international supply chain; managing across cultures; identifying, developing and utilising offshore partnerships; the ever increasing impact of e-commerce; developing strategies and associated activities. You will draw on this knowledge to develop strategies for growth opportunities and global success within the area of fashion entrepreneurship.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:

MC213 Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship)
PLO 1: Research and creatively solve problems independently, demonstrating expert judgement and ethical responsibility relating to your professional practice within the business of fashion and textiles.
PLO 2: Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on complex theories and recent developments, both local and international, to extend and challenge existing knowledge and practice in fashion entrepreneurship.
PLO 3: Professionally communicate propositions, processes and outcomes to the fashion industry and a wider audience, acknowledging cultural inclusion.
PLO6: Master a complex body of knowledge and technical skills to progress your professional career within the fashion and textiles industry.
PLO 7: Investigate emergent global issues and adapt strategic responses that influence the fashion and textiles industry. 

 


Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to:

CLO 1: Critically review the changing nature of the Global Fashion Industry.

CLO 2: Identify, interrogate and debate the fundamental issues that impact upon and are central to global market development within the area of Fashion Entrepreneurship.

CLO 3: Differentiate and assess cultural issues that will impact upon global business development and entrepreneurial strategies.

CLO 4: Critically analyse and evaluate global business scenarios so as to problem solve industry related challenges.

CLO 5: Research and develop export strategy plans for particular product ranges.

Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion entrepreneurship problems.

Overview of Assessment

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes. 

Assessment Tasks: 

Assessment Task 1 – International Opportunity Analysis (Individual) (30%) (CLOs: 1,2,3,4) 

Assessment Task 2 – International Business Plan and Presentation (Group) (50%) (CLOs: 1,2,3,5) 

Assessment Task 3 – Participation (Individual) (20%) (CLOs: 1,2,3,4,5)
