Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities
COMM2251 Integrated Media 1
Course Description
Integrated Media Two explores participatory storytelling and the place of social media and the emerging role of the social media producer within traditional media industries. You will create participatory media objects using an experimental, explorative and collaborative approach to media creation and production. These approaches will be reinforced through the central learning activities.
You are expected to develop sophisticated ideas about the nexus between ‘content and ‘medium’ and ‘producer and user’. This will be achieved through both analysing and producing participatory media stories native to the web 2.0 environment. In this way, the course embeds competencies necessary for advanced media projects undertaken in third year.
