Course Description

The course will provide you with skills and knowledge to be able to explain industrial textile product behaviour and performance.
Topics that will be explored include the selection of the textile elements and processes to achieve the final product outcome in textile and allied industries, such as Automotive, Medical and Geo.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:

1. Apply sustainable practices related to fashion and textiles issues.

2. Identify, research and analyse emerging global issues and trends in the fashion and textiles industry.

3. Conceptualise, integrate and organise information in order to resolve complex issues related to fashion and textiles product development.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Asses product requirements for specific applications.

2. Identify and evaluate material selection (fibre, yarn or fabric and associated materials) and manufacturing processes for various product applications.

3. Analyse and explain the properties of, and common processes used with, polymers and other non-metallic compounds.

4. Research, analyse and present information clearly and fluently using a structured critical perspective.
