- Please indicate your interest to take this course by submitting an expression of interest (EOI) along with an up-to-date CV and a copy of your Academic History. You may be invited to an interview during the application process. More details of the application process and the deadlines will be announced on the RMIT Fastrack website.

- If your application is approved, you will be instructed to enrol to the course.


Course Description

RMIT Fastrack Innovation Challenge is a learning module with real world experience. You will tackle strategic challenges and opportunities given by industry following design-driven approaches to enterprise creation and development that empathetically places people at the centre of value creation. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will develop innovations, responses and actions in addressing real-world complex problems. This will in most cases involve developing mock-ups or prototypes of the proposed innovation and an accompanying business case for commercial development. You will be supported industry mentors and faculty. After the program, you are well prepared for the rigours and opportunities that characterise high-pressure professional work.

This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience. You will experience authentic engagement with experienced entrepreneurs, innovation and design experts, customers and end-users and partner organisations

Overview of Learning Activities

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner who embraces ownership of the learning experience. The learning activities of this course include workshops, excursions, seminars and collaborative activities. Working in multidisciplinary groups and individually, you will engage in discussions to explore, critique and develop ideas, engage with end-users and customers to test and validate ideas, deliver presentations to industry partners, prepare precise and succinct reports, and collaborate with external subject matter experts on set tasks or projects. You will receive feedback from industry and faculty mentors on your work as it progresses. The activities are designed to facilitate your achievement of learning outcomes and understand assessment tasks efficiently.
