Course Description

In this course, you will develop the knowledge essential to operate within a fashion business environment. You will acquire skills to identify and evaluate the financial status for successful fashion business development. You will work collaboratively to plan actions to minimise risk for future entrepreneurial ventures within a local and international context.

Program Learning Outcomes 

In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:

PLO 1. Identify entrepreneurial opportunities and recognise constraints for fashion and textile business development. 

PLO 2. Apply business skills and knowledge acquired to effectively develop a fashion venture.

PLO 6. Build entrepreneurial skills to implement new directions for the fashion and textile industry.

Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion entrepreneurship problems.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes. 

Assessment Tasks: 

Assessment Task 1: Financial Concepts Tasks (Individual) (15%) CLOs: 1& 2 

Assessment Task 2: Construct and Analyse Financial Statements (Individual) (45%) CLOs: 1, 2 & 3
 
Assessment Task 3: Pricing Models (Individual) (40%) CLOs: 3 & 4
