Course Description

This course introduces you to the principles of blockchains and their potential to transform industries and societies. You will critically analyse the application of a blockchain initiative to a specific industry or context and develop a strategic plan to make that initiative a reality. You will design a blockchain ecosystem solution that takes into account the key functional requirements, blockchain platforms, processes, logic coding and data storage, as well as non-functional requirements such as scalability and security.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

CLO1: Characterise the key concepts of blockchains in the context of their potential to transform industries and societies.

CLO2: Critically evaluate the value of, and obstacles to, implementing blockchain initiatives in business.

CLO3: Develop a strategic plan to take a blockchain initiative from vision to implementation.

CLO4: Define the key actors, values and components of a potential blockchain ecosystem.

CLO5: Design a blockchain solution that encompasses functional, technical and non-functional requirements.
