Course Description

The futures of health and healthcare are digital. Changes in societal attitudes to health, wellbeing and engagement with health services are converging with exponential increases in health-related data and the sophistication and ubiquity of technologies that can be used to improve both health outcomes and patient and consumer experiences. In Digital Health Enablers and Technologies you will examine the health, societal and technological megatrends that are propelling digital health and analyse the nature and implications of digital disruption and transformation in the health sector. You will appraise barriers to, risks for and enablers of better health as societies and economies increasingly function digitally. Topics will include appraising developments internationally and, in both health, and other industries, critiquing the opportunities and challenges associated with the application of emerging digital technologies to health, and assessing their potential impacts of digital technologies on health business and service delivery models and patient, consumer and citizen experiences.
