Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to communicate gender equity key messages to a range of different stakeholders using an intersectional approach.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. 

This unit supports the attainment of skills and knowledge required to develop and deliver gender equity key messages in the workplace to a range of internal and external stakeholders, colleagues and other staff using an intersectional approach. The purpose of communication may be to inform, educate, influence or engage for action.

It includes preparing for communication, developing a communication plan, delivering gender equity key messages and reviewing and revising key messages. It includes planning for and responding to backlash and disclosures of family violence and/or harassment.

This unit applies to practitioners and professionals with varying degrees of responsibility working in roles that have a responsibility to communicate gender equity to stakeholders. This unit enhances the ability to communicate effectively to promote and engage people in gender equity work within known work environments and work practices.
