Course Description

In this course you will cover the skills and knowledge required to apply workplace policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for self and others. The unit of competency will allow you to identify work health and safety (WHS) hazards that might harm or injure people, work out the risk of these hazards actually causing harm and follow safety procedures in the workplace with minimal supervision.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include three assessments or projects. Assessments will be in the form of tests for underpinning knowledge and demonstration and observation of your ability to identify work health and safety (WHS) hazards, assess risk and follow safety procedures in the workplace with minimal supervision. Also by questioning for underpinning knowledge.
