Course Description

In this course you will cover the skills and knowledge required to use techniques for image processing. It is a specialisation unit and refers to specific equipment and techniques used for making photo work-print images.

Current photoimaging industry practice relies increasingly on digital imaging processes and this is reflected in the training and assessment of this unit.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to produce a folio of printed work to a high standard consistent with industry practice. The production of this folio will incorporate the development of proof sheets, digital files and work prints which demonstrate the application of selected and core techniques.

Assessment tasks include:

  • review and feedback sessions
  • demonstration and various applications of imaging processing techniques
  • production of proof sheets and print tests
  • demonstration of a structured workflow process
  • processing and development of digital files to produce prints using a variety of output mediums chromogenic and inkjet.
