Course Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge you will require to construct a single crown, or a combination of two or more crowns known as a bridge. - used to replace a natural tooth. The crown and bridges that you construct are designed to restore function in harmony with the patients natural dentition. All procedures must be carried out in accordance with occupational health and safety policies and procedures, current infection control guidelines, Australian and New Zealand Standards, State/Territory legislative requirements and organisation policy.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course you will be able to demonstrate, on a consistent basis, the construction of a range of different cast metal crowns and bridges in technique metal (gold). The course will develop your skills of crown and bridge construction with a focus on anatomy and harmony with the patients natural dentition (teeth).
Overview of Assessment
You will be assessed in a simulated workplace and under the normal range of work conditions.
You will be assessed on both the essential knowledge and the demonstration of essential skills through;
Completion of practical exercises - including detailed self reflection of each exercise
