Course Description

This unit of competency specifies outcomes required to produce two and three-dimensional drawings in accordance with standard industry practice and to a level suitable for
building permit approval applications. It includes the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to produce working drawings for commercial buildings (Building Code of
Australia Classes 2 to 9).

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. However this unit forms part of a minimum qualification requirement for registration with the Building

This unit of competency could be assessed in the workplace or a close simulation of the workplace environment, provided that simulated or project-based assessment techniques replicate building design
workplace conditions, materials, activities,
responsibilities and procedures.
