The principal scholarships for international students are those awarded under the IPRS scheme, while many local students are awarded APAs. Details appear below.
The School of Computer Science and IT also awards several scholarships, top-ups, and tutorships each year. These are awarded for one year but are usually renewable subject to satisfactory progress and compliance with School procedures, until the student has been enrolled for the normal period of candidature (3 years for PhD, 2 years for MBR). No extensions are possible. Students must re-apply each year.
International research students may apply for an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS).
Applications for these scholarships occur only once a year. The closing date for applications is 31st October for commencement in the following academic year.
In addition to financial support provided by this scholarship, a top-up of up to $4,000 (2006 figures) may be available from the School, budget-permitting.
