About the Unit

Our key focus is to work with the RMIT community to promote, support, and advise on quality management, and continuous and/or innovative improvement processes to assist the University to achieve its goals.

To assist in planning delivery and management of staff development related to Quality by:

  • Providing a liaison role between RMIT staff and external organisations/training companies that offer courses, workshops and accredited training.

  • Assisting and supporting action-learning projects for your group/team as part of broader organisational self-assessments.

  • Assisting and supporting training for your group in continuous improvement principles, problem solving techniques, quality management and business excellence.

 

To assist staff who are involved in any of the following:

  • Manage a project that will initiate changes at RMIT

  • Are supporting the implementation of new initiatives at RMIT

  • Need to implement advice from state and federal governments, Deans, DVCs

  • Need to implement policies prescribed by state and federal government departments, Regulations, Deans, DVCs

  • Write advice or submissions to BOTS, Academic and Faculty Boards, RMIT committees

  • Advise staff at RMIT of departmental/Faculty changes in procedures

  • Need to convince committee members of a good idea

  • Need to alter departmental/faculty/operational practices

  • Need to develop a policy or procedure

  • Are considering improving a process, service or activity

  • Need to write 'how to' documents

  • Need to as a member of a committee or course team, edit documentation for distribution

  • Are involved in ISO Certification or Professional Association reviews

  • Are involved in Program Quality Improvement and Reviews

  • Need to write quality statements for tender documentation

 

We are also happy to be involved as members of project teams and/or committees across the university, to provide support and advice on quality assurance and improvement processes.
