Quality Unit 2001 Plan
The QU is currently working on its key
priorities and plans for 2001. Our mission goal and values remain relatively unchanged
under the new name, however some of our objectives and plans will change. Watch this space
for further details.

RMITs Mission - RMIT
University exists to
- Provide technical and professional education that develops
people for leadership and employment, and
- Undertake research programs that address real world issues
Within an international and community context. |

- To ensure that the infrastructure and information,
management and administrative services and systems enhance the performance of the
Universitys core functions; and
- To ensure the long term viability and sustainability of the
University.

Planning and Quality Unit Mission - The Unit exists to
- Work with the RMIT community to promote,
support and advise on quality management, planning and continuous and/or innovative
improvement processes to assist the University to achieve its goals.

planning and quality management support and advisory services in an Australian university.

| Our Clients The University supports a diverse client base, of which its students
are its largest direct client group. Other client groups include industry, enterprise and
other types of partners and stakeholders. The Unit supports the Universitys clients
by delivering services to those areas of the University that deal directly with the
students and other clients. The main direct client groups for the Unit include:
The Vice-Chancellor and the Executive Team the VC,
the DVCs and the PVCs;
The Academic Leadership Team the DVC, the PVC
(T&L), the PVC (R&D), the PVC (International) and the Deans;
The Support Services Leadership Team the DVC
(Resources), the Resources Group Directors, the PVC (Academic Services) and the Senior
Staff in Student Affairs, the Library and the Information Technology Alignment Program;
Academic and General Staff at the department and
course levels, including cross-functional project teams; and
The University Council and its Committees, specifically the
Planning, Quality and Performance Committee.
The Unit also interacts with relevant departments and
agencies within the Commonwealth and State governments, as well as staff from other
post-secondary education institutions. |
