| Our Planning and
Improvement Cycle The Units approach to planning is based on a five-year rolling plan
that addresses the Units goal and objectives, which in turn reflect specific goals
of the University. The Units plan has been developed through an extensive
consultative process involving inputs from all staff in the Unit. Prior to finalisation,
it will be tested with selected individual staff external to the Unit, as well as
discussed with and approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Resources).
The Unit will deploy the Plan through the Directors individual work and
development plan, which is approved by the Vice-Chancellor, and also through the
individual work and development plans prepared by all staff.
After six months, results
of the implementation of the Plan will be reviewed by the Director and then, after 12
months, by the Unit as a whole. A progress report will be sent to the Vice-Chancellor at
six months and an annual report will be sent to the Vice-Chancellors Executive and
the Planning, Quality and Performance Committee at the end of the year.
As a result of its annual review, the Unit will identify
projects that will improve its performance for
consideration as part of the next annual cycle of planning undertaken by the Unit. |
