CIB World Building Congress

World Building Congress (WBC2022) will focus the building community's attention on making our world a better place to live. We hope you'll join us!

CIB is pleased that the World Building Congress (WBC2022) will be hosted at RMIT University in Melbourne between 27 - 30 June 2022. The conference will proceed with a hybrid format, with attendees able to attend both in-person or online.

The CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) is a global network of researchers and industry professionals working together to improve building processes and enhance the performance of the built environment.

Every three years, the CIB holds the World Building Congress (WBC) to connect the international building community, discuss the latest research, share insights and inspiration to improve projects worldwide, and create lasting networks for future collaboration.

WBC2022 will showcase the work of the CIB Working Commissions and Task Groups and include:

  • sessions focusing on the ongoing research of our global members
  • thematic keynotes and industry sessions
  • feature presentations on state-of-the art infrastructure and building projects currently under construction around Melbourne, including:
    • the Melbourne Metro
    • road tunnels and freeway projects
    • rail separations
    • high-rise buildings for housing and commercial purposes

Congress attendees will be able to visit project sites, engage with industry professionals and watch research improving practice in real time.

Over 400 full papers have been accepted for WBC2022 and sponsors have confirmed their support. We are delighted that CIB has confirmed it will go ahead with a hybrid format, Melbourne will be ready to offer a warm welcome and we look forward to seeing people face-to-face in June.
