Does contemporary art currently have a blind spot when it comes to engaging in the contemporary media environment? Or have we now reached a point where it completely absorbed into contemporary art.
Presentations, discussions, artist talks, observations, provocations on how artists respond, consider, think, ignore and engage the contemporary mediasphere of the internet, television, cinema and technology.
Key speakers include Adrian Martin, Lizzie Muller, Philip Brophy, Darren Tofts, Philippa Murray and more. Convened by Ian Haig, a MARS project (Media Art Research Synergies).
MARS is a newly established research network in the School of Art, RMIT.
Transport and access
Walk to the intersection of Victoria and Swanston Streets. Trams running along Swanston Street include routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 and 72, from which you can connect to the train at Melbourne Central or Flinders Street.

No on-campus parking is available for visitors, but you’ll find many commercial car parks a short walk away. Metered street parking is also available nearby, but note the time limits and clearway restrictions.
