Celebrate the new site for RMIT's Bachelor of Design (Fashion) (Honours) program that will inspire the bright future and practice of its students.
From 2015 RMIT's Brunswick campus will house years one to three of the Bachelor of Design (Fashion) (Honours) program, with the final fourth year honours study undertaken in the city's immersive workshop space.
A selection of students work will be curated in the new Brunswick building as site specific installations that consider the importance of ‘place’ in fashion and as a cultural identity, ‘space’ as a form of presentation and ‘change’ as key themes in producing fashion. The place where fashion is created inspires and influences and movement, embodiment and change are part of the practice and identity of fashion. Throughout the years of study in the program, these ideas are embedded into all aspects of design thinking and understanding.
This exhibition will showcase this distinct approach and highlight the program's approach to thinking about and producing fashion.
