Che-Wei Chen (b. 1986, Yilan, Taiwan) holds an MFA from the Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan.
Chen's work encompasses photography, film, text, sound and object. Interweaving narrative and memory, reality and fiction, history and the present, his practice crosses boundaries in an effort to explore and interrogate the complexities of human existence. He has participated in international residencies in Melbourne (2016), Berlin (2015), Istanbul (2013) and Busan (2011). He has held solo exhibitions at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (2016), Howl Space, Tainan (2013) and Nanhai Gallery, Taipei (2011). He currently works and lives in Taipei.
Che-Wei Chen is the recipient of the 2016 Taiwanese Arts Residency Exchange, a project of RMIT iAIR, the Taipei National University of the Arts and Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan.
