Dr Zbigniew Michalewicz talks about the business applications of transforming data into decisions.
This presentation is based on work Dr Michalewicz has done for three companies over the last 16 years: NuTech Solutions, SolveIT Software, and Complexica.
General concepts of transforming data into decisions will be discussed, illustrated by three specific examples: one from NuTech, one from SolveIT, and one from Complexica.
About the speaker
Dr Zbigniew Michalewicz is Emeritus Professor in School of Computer Science at the University of Adelaide and Chief Scientist at Complexica.
He has over 30 years of academic and industry experience, and has special interest in new trends in Business Intelligence.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society. In 2006 he was appointed a Business Ambassador for the State of South Australia.
He holds Professor positions at the Institute of Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology, and the State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering of Wuhan University, China.
He is also associated with the Structural Complexity Laboratory at Seoul National University, South Korea.
He has published over 200 articles and 15 books on the subject of predictive data mining and logistics optimisation.
