Join us for a public forum on the problems and challenges of urban freight transport.
Urban freight transport and logistics issues are becoming a key issue in providing sustainable mobility in our urban areas and are the source of many environmental and mobility problems. They necessitate a diverse number of actions by those authorities and stakeholders involved in the planning, the management and the operation of urban transport.
The presentation will look at the problems and challenges posed by urban freight transport and the key issues involved. It will look at possible actions and solutions, at operational level, explaining them briefly and giving examples of innovative measures taken by the private sector in Europe and elsewhere. It will look at the regulatory framework, put forward today by the EU, as well as the main relevant EU policies and documents that have been issued in the recent past.
The seminar will be followed by a panel of experts discussing the learning opportunities from the success or failure of the EU projects to mitigate the potential implications of urban freight challenges on business performance and productivity.
