Germany's robust and creative film industry will be represented by four exciting international guests at this year's fourteenth annual Audi Festival of German Films. One of these guests, Thomas Köner, will hold a workshop at RMIT on May 26.
Composer Thomas Köner is a distinctive figure in the fields of contemporary music and multimedia art, working across the spheres of composition, visual arts, installation work and music production. Numerous awards reflect his familiarity with both the visual and sonic arts on an international scale. Köner was commissioned to create music for silent films for the Auditorium du Musée du Louvre, Centre Pompidou. His latest work was premiered at Maerzmusik / Berliner Festspiele. At this year's festival, Köner will create a live soundtrack for the 1926 silent film FAUST by German cinema legend FW Murnau.
