About the workshop

Pathways to PhD

Pathways to PhD and Masters by Research

The Pathways to PhD workshop provides students with an opportunity to hear from current PhD and Masters by Research students and other presenters about the experience of doing a higher degree by research.

Although the workshop is intended primarily for current Honours and Masters by coursework students, any student considering undertaking a PhD or Masters by Research is welcome to attend.

The workshop provides an opportunity for you to gain an insight into the processes and experience of a higher degree by research.

A panel of current PhD and Masters by Research students will speak about their experiences of doing a higher degree by research at the workshop. They will also be available to answer questions about the higher degree by research experience. Professor Denise Cuthbert, Dean of the School of Graduate Research, will also speak about the higher degree by research experience, and Professor Rob Watts, from the School of Global Studies Science and Planning, will talk about the role of the supervisor and the supervisory relationship in higher degrees by research.

Registrations for this workshop are now closed. The next Pathways to PhD workshop will be arranged in 2013.
