Top of pagePurpose of the Program
The Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship) program provides you with the knowledge, enterprising capabilities, and confidence to create and build your own ventures and to undertake business practices in firms with a high degree of competency. A broad-based curriculum in the program covers a range of entrepreneurship and management theories dealing with complex issues in contemporary entrepreneurship theory and practice, entrepreneurial processes, global and non-profit entrepreneurship, finance, innovation and new venture creation.
You will be provided with a variety of learning experiences which include engaging with successful entrepreneurs, undertaking case study analysis, enterprise formation and workplace experience. You will develop theoretical and applied perspectives to business and entrepreneurship and experience dealing with complexity, uncertainty, deadlines, teamwork and multidisciplinary roles.
In the final year of the program, the capstone experience course BUSM1325 New Venture Creation provides the culmination of the knowledge, skills and applied work practice experiences that prepare you to transit into the business world.
This program will prepare you to launch and manage new ventures; work in business development for firms in different industry sectors; provide business consulting, and manage, and grow businesses in an entrepreneurial manner with a global orientation to business practices.
This program is delivered on-campus.

Credit and exemptions will be assessed consistent with the principles of the RMIT University Credit Policy. Applicants who have completed studies or have partially completed a similar program at another institution (with entry criteria similar to this program) may be accepted with some credits or exemptions being granted towards this program.
Credit pathways between RMIT University VET programs, Higher Education Diplomas & Associate Degrees in the same or related discipline, enable you upon successful completion of a lower level qualification, at the required standard for admission, to apply for advanced standing in a higher level qualification.
Credit pathways between RMIT University programs enable you upon graduating from an RMIT University qualification to apply for advanced standing in a higher level qualification.

Semester 1, 2022 is the final intake for BP030 Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship).
Applicants with recent secondary education (current and within the past two years):
Successful completion of an Australian Year 12 senior secondary certificate of education or equivalent. VCE study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL or equivalent.
If applicable, this includes equity access schemes and any other adjustment factors.
Vocational Education and Training study applicants:
Successful completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma or equivalent overseas qualification.
Higher Education Diploma applicants:
Successful completion of an Australian Higher Education Diploma or equivalent overseas qualification.
Associate Degree applicants:
Domestic applicants who have successfully completed the equivalent of four courses in an Australian Associate Degree with GPA converted to ATAR and no double-fail in any required course of the receiving degree.
International applicants who have successfully completed the equivalent of eight courses in an Australian Associate Degree and no double-fail in any required course of the receiving degree.
All Bachelor Degree applicants:
Domestic applicants who have successfully completed the equivalent of two courses at an Australian Bachelor Degree with GPA converted to ATAR and no double-fail in any required course of the receiving degree.
International applicants who have successfully completed the equivalent of four courses at an Australian Bachelor Degree and no double-fail in any required course of the receiving degree.
Open Universities Australia (OUA) applicants:
Successful completion of two Open Universities Australia higher education units. Scored or graded results are required.
Entrance requirements for international onshore applicants:

Applicants with Work and Life experience:
You may satisfy the academic requirements by completing the STAT multiple choice. If you are applying to RMIT as an applicant with work or life experience, you may sit the STAT multiple choice if you:
- are 19 years of age or over as of 1 January in the year in which you will start your studies and
- have not been enrolled in secondary studies for at least two years and
- have no prior secondary school (Year 12), VET studies, HE studies or relevant work experience that can be considered for entry, or these do not meet the minimum academic requirements for the program
STAT results are valid for two years prior to the commencement of study and can be used to meet Year 12 English prerequisites. You are still required to meet all other program prerequisites or equivalents.

A core focus of the Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship) is the establishment of strong industry linkages. Two courses offer you access to industry via work-integrated learning (WIL) including Driving Innovation in Organisations in year two and New Venture Creation in year three.
In addition, you will be exposed to industry mentors, case study work, enterprise formation and workplace experience. For example, you will undertake projects in host organisations to apply the knowledge you have developed to solve authentic business problems and address real issues faced in a real life context. The program is also supported by industry partners in the form of scholarships and bursaries: The Jacques Nasser Business Start-up Scholarships, the Jacques Nasser Entrepreneurship Travel Scholarships, Jacques Nasser Rural and Regional Bursary, and the Fastrack Innovation Program Prize.
The School of Management Industry Advisory Committee includes senior executives from a number of major companies. The Committee provides feedback on the currency of our programs and the changing needs of Industry.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
