On successful completion of this program you will be prepared to work at senior technician and management level in the live event and audiovisual related industries. You will be equipped to adapt to varied live production and broadcast industry environments and opportunities available locally and overseas. You are expected to understand the need for high production values and professionalism in order to participate in the live production, audiovisual and broadcast industries.

Satisfactory completion of CUA40415 Certificate IV of Live Production and Technical Services (RMIT code C4371) or equivalent.
Applicants with appropriate industry experience in Live Production and Technical Services may be eligible for entry to the program.
A minimum of IELTS (Academic module) overall score of 5.5, with no band less than 5.0, or equivalent. For equivalents to English entry requirements, see the English requirements web page.

In Australia there are no professional bodies that recognise or accredit programs in Live Production and Technical Services, as the skills and knowledge are applied to a range of industries including but not limited to:
- AV/IT technical support roles for education
- Broadcast television – location and studio technical support roles
- Venue- based live event and AV support roles
- Live event equipment hire, staging and operational roles
- Permanent AV systems design and installation roles
- Theatrical staging and technical operation roles
- Video and film production technical support roles
This program is informed by and strongly connected with industry. It has been developed with the support and input of people working across the industry and all course delivery and assessment is informed by industry through the Industry Advisory Committee. The teachers in the Live Production and Technical Services program all have strong links with industry and histories of relevant industry experience.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
