Purpose of the Program

The aim of this program is to create global communication professionals with specialised knowledge and transferable skills for the private and public sector (business, government, non-government and civil society). You will develop your leadership skills for the future through exploring theoretical frameworks and practical applications of contemporary communication. This will include strong connections with industry and community groups.

Most courses in this program are delivered face to face at our city campus and some are available fully online.  The professional research project is a capstone experience, in which you will synthesise and integrate your knowledge, connect theory and practice, and demonstrate holistic achievement of the program learning outcomes.

Graduates of the program typically find employment in strategic communication across diverse industry and community settings. The program is suitable for both local and international students, with recent graduates having come to Melbourne from Singapore, India, Columbia, Malaysia, Thailand, Norway, Canada, Denmark, Kenya, Germany, USA and England. The program is consistently sought after by those who recently completed their undergraduate degree, mature-age students and international students alike. It particularly appeals to practitioners in middle-management roles and returning to part-time study for career progression.

On completion of the program, graduates will be communication leaders with specialised knowledge of the global communication industry. You will be able to work collaboratively in international and interdisciplinary teams and will be prepared for professional leadership roles in a range of corporate communication or communication for social change contexts. You will be able to provide high quality outcomes in delivering global, integrated communication solutions in a digital age.
