Library Resources and Access

Suggest an item for the Library to buy

  • Before making your request check the Library catalogue to make sure that the item is not already in the collection, on order, or in process.
  • Provide as much information as possible: ISBN, title, author or editor, publisher, date of publication, edition number, etc. Incomplete information may cause delays.
  • Tell us the date by which you want the item to be on the shelf, especially for urgent orders.
  • Turnaround time is 2-4 weeks in Australia and 6-10 weeks for overseas orders. It is important to submit your request(s) as early as possible.
  • Not everything you request may be purchased. The decision to purchase an item is based on the availability of funds, and on the teaching, learning and research requirements of the University.
  • Out of stock or out of print items may take longer or may not be available. If items ordered are not available and orders have to be cancelled the information will be reported to Liaison Librarians.
  • Requests sent via our online form go to your Liaison Librarian. Alternatively send a request using a printed Library Purchase Request form (PDF, 40 KB) or just send the details. Hardcopy forms are available at the Information Desk. The completed requests can be handed to your Liaison Librarian or at any of the Information Desks.
