In semester 1, 2014, Jayne went on exchange to RMIT Vietnam, and loved embracing the amazing culture.
Bachelor of Social Science (Youth Work)
Having the opportunity to live and study in a south-east Asian country is incredible.
While on exchange Jayne lived off campus to experience more of the culture and normal life of Vietnamese people around her. However she still enjoyed the communal atmosphere at the university, which hosts an outdoor canteen area where you can see a lot of friendly faces on your way to class.
Outside her uni experience, she found time to travel with friends to places such as Bangkok, Ha Noi and Halong Bay. She also took advantage of the nearby beaches, taking weekend trips to beachside towns such as Mui Ne. Jayne suggests to anyone considering Vietnam; “by accepting the challenges that come with living in a different culture, and acknowledging all the moments that help you grow, you are able to embrace the amazing culture of Vietnam.”
