Description

This transition program will enable you to upgrade your qualification from the Certificate IV in Nursing, earlier Enrolled Nursing or other hospital-based qualifications to the Diploma of Nursing.

This specialised program is designed to recognise your current registration and role as an Enrolled Nurse with a specialised timetable developed to ensure you complete units where a gap exists, avoiding duplication on current knowledge and skills.

Career outcomes

The transition program is designed to upgrade your qualifications of Enrolled Division 2 Nurses to diploma level. While enrolled nurses are not required to obtain a diploma qualification to renew registration, you may choose to undertake further training to increase employment opportunities or to pathway into to the Bachelor of Nursing program.

Professional recognition

This qualification is designed in accordance with the guidelines of Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

What you will study

Your program of study to meet the requirements of the HLT51607 Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled-Division 2 nursing) will depend on your experience and qualifications.

For more information please email Carylin Lenehan.

Entrance requirements

You must currently be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). You must currently hold the Certificate IV in Health (Nursing) (2407ADC – post 1995) or Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) (HLT43407).

The transition program does not currently cater for pre-1995 qualifications, though you can still apply via the Recognition of Prior Learning process and be assessed by that mode.

A current National Police Check and Working With Children Check is required prior to going on the clinical placement component of the program.
