A new indoor garden at the RMIT Campus Store provides a green haven from the concrete jungle outside.
TheCampus StoreCampus StoreCampus Storehas created an indoor garden at its City campus location with the hope that visitors will spend time in the space and be inspired to develop their own sustainable ideas.
The garden, featuring hanging pots, walls of plants and comfortable seating, is a collaboration between Greening RMIT and urban garden specialists Kiiva and Eva Reid.
By creating green spaces on campus, Greening RMIT hopes to encourage others to work together on projects that have a positive impact at the University as well as the wider community.
Greening RMIT hold regular events, with a Terrarium Workshop this week in the Campus Store giving participants the chance learn how to build their own tiny garden in a glass jar.
The Greening RMIT project focuses on creating more green spaces and urban gardens at RMIT, incorporating aspects of living art and modern design.
The project champions an interactive participatory approach so that all members of the RMIT community, including students and staff, can help create and utilise sustainable urban spaces.
Greening RMIT is an entirely student-run initiative of the RMIT University Student Union's Environment Collective.
The Terrarium Building Workshop is at the RMIT Campus Store, 17-25 Little La Trobe St, on Wednesday, 26 August, from 3pm to 4pm
