Aliyah Baynosa has been crowned winner of the 2014 RMIT Unplugged singing competition, with a cover of Ariana Grande's "Tattooed Heart".
The Bachelor of Applied Science - Psychology student received a $500 cash prize and the opportunity to perform at RMIT graduation in front of an audience of 20,000 people.
Unplugged is RMIT's official singer/songwriter competition, held at the Kaleide Theatre by RMIT Link Arts and Culture.
Unplugged runner-ups received cash prizes and will also all be performing at the 2014 RMIT Melbourne Graduation Ceremony with Ms Baynosa.
More than 30 entrants auditioned for Unplugged and moved through elimination rounds.
Finalists performed a range of songs, from originals and covers to mash-ups of contemporary tracks at the grand final.
Students, friends, family members and staff all gathered to watch emerging performers and musicians take the stage.
Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) student Adam Reeves received the People's Choice Award for his untitled original song that spoke of a relationship between father and son.
All of the talented students who performed on the night received vouchers from the RMIT Campus Store for their participation.
Arts Officer for RMIT Link Arts and Culture, Susie Anderson, oversaw the entire event, which has taken the place of RMIT Idol.
"I was so impressed to see students from all different study areas take the stage and wow the audience with their talent, bravery and star quality," she said.
Unplugged was judged by a panel of industry adjudicators including rock and soul performer Stella Angelico, veteran RMIT Idol judge of 15 years Claire Furlong, and singer and youth program support worker at Moreland City Council, Vito Lucarelli.

- Declan Lammers, Runner-up, Bachelor of Engineering - Electronic and Communication Engineering, (Honours).
