Professor Helen Lingard and Dr Michelle Turner will present at the upcoming Inaugural Workplace Wellness Conference in Sydney.
Professor Helen Lingard and Dr Michelle Turner will discuss the findings of their participatory action research project, which focuses on improving the health of manual or non-managerial construction workers.
The study was supported by funding from the Department of Justice and Attorney-General under the Queensland Government Healthier Happier Workplaces initiative and undertaken on construction sites in Queensland.
Health promotion strategies were implemented and evaluated during the research.
Presenting on 30 July 2015 at the Inaugural Workplace Wellness Conference, Lingard and Turner will highlight the importance of adopting health promotion interventions that address issues in the broader organisational and industrial environment.
Findings of the research have been published in an article titled, ‘Improving the health of male, blue collar construction workers: a social ecological perspective’ in Construction Management and Economics.
Activities undertaken during the course of the research (under the Queensland Government’s Healthy Living Made Easy program) were featured in an article in the Sunshine Coast Daily.
