Our amazing volunteers play an important part in welcoming new students to RMIT and making Transition and Orientation events a huge success.

The Orientation Volunteer Program is going through some exciting changes.
There will be many more opportunities for training and volunteering throughout 2009.
Recruitment will commence in October 2008.
Anyone who is enrolled as a student at RMIT in 2009 can join the program.

Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is enrolled as a student at RMIT in 2009
What could I do as an Orientation volunteer?
You could assist us with events and activities such as:
- Orientation – Semester One and Two
- Leaving RMIT (program for final year students)
- Students Services promotions
- Free lunches for students
You could be:
- tour guide
- information booth assistant
- pre-production assistant
- logistics assistant
- event assistant
- sponsorship/entertainment assistant
- or even a volunteer team leader!
What commitment is required?
- 5 hours of training
- at least 15 hours of volunteering for any Orientation and Transition event over the academic year
What will I get from volunteering during Orientation?
- have your volunteer contribution acknowledged on your academic transcript
- an RMIT LEAD certificate signed by the Vice Chancellor
- meet new people
- gain some new skills and experience
- free accredited training sessions - For example: First Aid training, Food Handling certificate
- an invitation to the Volunteer Awards Ceremony in October.
