Welcome to the PCET Research Centre

The RMIT University Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) Research Centre is located within RMIT University’s School of Education and is part of the Design and Social Context portfolio. The Centre undertakes a broad range of activities and provides services with a focus on post compulsory education and training, including:

  • postgraduate and short course programs
  • state, national and international research projects
  • Australian and international development projects
  • education and training policy advice and development.

The Centre’s research program has included state, nationally and internationally funded work focused on international comparisons of VET systems, VET innovation and globalisation, financing of VET, youth transition from school to work, adult numeracy, VET in schools programs, equity issues, training packages, and effectiveness of clusters, professional development and young people in the ACE sector. International consultancy work for AusAID, UNESCO, OECD and the World Bank includes VET sector capacity building projects and roles in the reform of policy and practice in VET internationally. Research and consultancy projects regularly involve industry analysis and recommendations to improve the contribution of VET to regional, state and national economies.
