The Re-imagining the Australian Suburb project is a result of the collaborative efforts of seven research clusters that focus on separate but highly correlated areas of sustainable urban development.
Within these clusters, our researchers examine and review the current methods, thinking and practices that are being used and developed by our local governments, catchment authorities, housing and land developers, builders and planners in order to create more sustainable suburbs. We also look out for gaps in knowledge across the field of sustainable urban development and use our research to bridge these gaps.
Our research clusters:
Biodiversity Planning in Urban Fringe Landscapes
EcoFootprint of Aurora Estate
EcoHome – Sustainability and innovation in housing developments
Ecological Sustainability and Urban Development
Life Cycle Costing and Housing Affordability
Local Governance and Community Building
Sustainable Urban Water Systems
