This project provides a sophisticated institution-wide metadata store, or cataloguing system, using Redbox (a platform used across several Australian universities).
Research data of all disciplines will is becoming more readily accessible to RMIT researchers, and their collaborators and addresses national standards and global research data needs.
The repository seamlessly integrates with existing University repositories: linking to authoritative sources of academic ‘identity’ in eDirectory; projects and funding in Research Master; publications in Research Repository; and to other classes of domain-level identifiers. The overall architecture, so-called ‘VINCULA’ was developed in a joint collaboration with ITS and the Library. Partial funding by ANDS is gratefully acknowledged.
