During State Government grant and incubation period until 2016, access to the centre is simplified by special access rules.

ABB in Australia works closely with Australian universities to meet its skills demand and that of its customers. ABB Australia has delivered numerous small to large-scale projects, including the Hepburn Wind farm, Australia’s first community owned wind farm located in central Victoria, and a $58m automation and telecommunications system for controlling coal seam gas extraction in Queensland for the BG Group (QQC Pty Ltd).
In India, ABB is involved with some of the largest infrastructure and energy projects under way in the world. ABB is supplying a complete electrical, control and instrumentation solution for India’s largest seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant in Chennai; upgrading and innovating India's railway transport system, one of the largest in the world and the largest employer in the world with 1.4 million staff; and delivering distributed control systems for safety, reliability and efficiency improvements in the State of Gurajat 1,260 MW Wanakbori thermal power plant.
The India Corporate Research Centre (CRC) of ABB and ABB Global Industries and Services are co-located in Bangalore under joint management and provide engineering and software engineering research and development services to Indian ABB projects and across the ABB Group globally. The India CRC is also ABB’s global R&D node for its Australian and NZ business.
