This project explored the needs of international students in relation to the provision of local and community services such as housing, employment, community participation, and general well-being.
City of Moreland
An online survey of international students living, working and studying in and around the municipality of Moreland was conducted. The survey gathered demographic information about international students in the area, as well as information about their housing, employment and general well-being. It assessed their level of access to and satisfaction with local government services, facilities and initiatives, and their levels of social inclusion and community participation.
This research has formed the first step towards improving awareness, accessibility and quality of services available to international students in the municipality of Moreland. A report including recommendations of strategies to improve the general wellbeing and social inclusion of international students was provided to Moreland City Council on the completion of the project.
