The integrated nature of projects calls for delivering collaborative process-oriented solutions, while accounting for a myriad of variables and sometimes unknowns.
Industry in Australia, as envisioned by the likes of Construction 2020, needs a better focus in improved business environments and improved process for manufacture of constructed products, among others. Studies in offsite manufacturing, productivity metrics and benchmarking, in addition to risk analysis and mitigation, will be of great benefit.
The Centre for Integrated Project Solutions (CIPS) contributes to the body of knowledge and the advancement of the Australian economy through pursuing research on productivity measurements, project process modelling, performance optimisation and benchmarking.
Although there is much rhetoric, there has been little tangible progress in research and practice on supply chain integration measurement, performance metrics and indexes. We seek to develop such measures and fill these gaps.
