The civic-participation project seeks to develop research on crowdsourcing, microtasking, and other developments of collective intelligence.
Micro-tasking strategies for disaster management
The project focuses on the following aspects: (i) identifying the particular characteristics of microtasking platforms that can promote civic participation in disaster preparedness; (ii) identifying the type of data (and metadata) most suited to engage digital volunteers in microtasking strategies and (iii) outlining the legal and ethical aspects (and operational barriers) involved in micro-tasking strategies for disaster preparedness.
Political crowdsourcing: participatory tools and methods
The project aims at: (i) developing a conceptual framework for online civic participation that integrates concepts, models and methods in a cohesive way (ii) proposing empirical case studies for joint analysis.
