This project explored how established migrant families in Melbourne and Sydney conceptualise waste, energy and water consumption in the context of their everyday lives.

Data collection entailed face-to-face semi-structured interviews and ‘walk through’ tours of homes focusing quotidian (i.e. everyday) practices such as washing, eating, heating and cooling the home. Outcomes included the discovery of innovative practices carried through from past experiences in different climates, geographies, cultures and social circumstances.
