International partners

The Wegener Center is an internationalised research centre at the University of Graz, Austria, conducting cutting-edge research into climate, environmental and global change. The areas of research conducted at the Center range from monitoring, analysing, modelling and predicting climate and environmental change via climate impact research to the analysis of the causal role of humans in these changes.

The GFZ is the national German benchmark research centre for earth sciences. Research is conducted into the Earth system through improved understanding of the geological, physical, chemical and biological processes which occur at the Earth’s surface and interior on all scales of time and space.

IGiG is a leading research institution at Wroclaw University of Life and Environmental Sciences (WUELS), Poland. The Institute focusses on monitoring natural phenomena anthropogenic, using techniques of satellite surveying, photogrammetry, cartography and Geoinformatics.

JAXA is the national aerospace agency for Japan and was formed by the unification of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, the National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan and the National Space Development Agency of Japan. JAXA now encompasses all of Japan’s aerospace activities from research and development through to implementation and utilisation.

The CSRSR is a leading Taiwanese remote sensing research centre at the National Central University, Taiwan. The research carried out at the centre is focused around the development of new remote sensing technologies and their applications.

NOAA is the benchmark oceanographic and atmospheric scientific institution in the United States. NOAA functions to ensure the sustainability of the marine ecosystem, improve understanding of climate change, weather forecasting and extreme weather events and to provide accurate information to improve transportation safety and efficiency.

UCAR is a not-for-profit organisation comprising of a consortium of North American Universities dedicated to understanding the atmosphere and the complex processes that make up the Earth system.

The IGG is the geodesy, geophysics and environmental science research constituent of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It main research foci are global crustal movements, Earth interior structure and interactions, Earth system mass distribution, geodesy for space technology, natural hazards and ecosystem monitoring and modelling.

The CUMT is one of China’s leading multi-disciplinary universities and the oldest Chinese higher learning institution with a strong focus on mining engineering. The University is directly administered by the Chinese Ministry of Education and provides policy making advice on resource and energy strategies.

The GNSS Research Center of Wuhan University forms the developmental section of the China National Engineering Research Center for Satellite Positioning Systems. The Center plays a major role in the research, development and applications of GNSS technologies.

National partners

The SNAP Lab is one of the leading GPS research groups within Australia located at the University of New South Wales. The SNAP Lab utilises GPS, commercial, scientific and ancillary equipment in its primary research into GNSS, GPS and Navigation and Earth Observation.

The Curtin University GNSS Research Centre is a leading Australian GNSS research hub. The Centre’s research is focused around improving GNSS accuracy and integrity to meet the growing demand for geospatial information in Earth, atmospheric and space sciences.

The AIS is the premier Australian sport training institute. The AIS conducts applied research for improved athlete performance in collaboration with a number of leading national universities.

ACSER's purpose is to develop space capabilities relevant to Australia's needs through research, innovation and education.

Industry partners

EOS Space Systems is a public listed company specialising in the development and production of advanced tools for space surveillance and control. EOS Space Systems research focuses on space debris, space asset management, orbit prediction (tracking) and space environment management.

GPSat Systems Australia is a public listed company specialising in innovative technological solutions for commercial, industrial and defence satellite navigation needs. The company carries out research and technological development for commercial and scientific endeavours related to GNSS and GPS innovation.

Government partners

The Space Environment Research Centre administers the CRC-SEM, an international research centre which is building on Australian expertise in the measurement, monitoring, analysis and management of space debris to develop new technologies and strategies to preserve the space environment. The CRC-SEM is comprised of tertiary education, industry, government and international partners building on world-leading Australian innovations to reduce, and ultimately prevent, the loss of space infrastructure caused by collisions between debris and satellites.

The CRC-SI is an international research and development centre conducting cutting-edge, user-driven research into spatial information. The CRC-SI is comprised of higher education, industry, government and international partners and focuses on research into spatial infrastructures, positioning and feature extraction.

The DSE is the Victorian Government body responsible for the sustainable management of water resources, climate change, bush fires, public land, forests and ecosystems. The DSE functions to advise state government policy on environmental sustainability issues.

The BoM is the national Australian space weather, weather, climate and water agency. The BoM conducts research into and provides observational information on meteorological, hydrological and oceanographic systems. It functions to inform the public on the natural environment including, weather, climate change and extreme weather events.

Geoscience Australia is Australia's pre-eminent public sector geoscience organisation focused on the geology and geography of Australia. They apply science and technology to describe and understand the Earth for the benefit of Australia.
