Research SpecialtiesRMIT’S School of Electrical and Computer Engineering has a well established track record in applied research. Areas of research strength within the School include photonic devices and systems, RF and microwave engineering, planar antennas, digital signal processing, wireless technologies, teletraffic engineering and network modelling, biomedical engineering, biomolecular electronics, sensor technology, microelectronics, high performance computing, software systems, renewable energy, industrial automation and control. These research areas are currently in strong demand by industry and government. This research is supported by 53 academic staff members, of which 13 are research only staff, and approximately 120 postgraduate research students, with two thirds doing PhD studies. School Research CentresThe majority of the School’s research is undertaken in the School’s two Research Centres.
